  • 07 May 2012 - : LED lighting magic

Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Lisa Isaacson, owner of Numinus, and NuLED’s, a custom LED lighting company based here in San Diego county. Lisa is a member of IFDA Southern California and was cool enough to let us use their amazing built-in theater room for my recent photography presentation. To say that their [...]

  • 09 February 2012 - : high tech office space

A few photos a recent photo shoot for Designcorp, a San Diego based high end commercial design firm. This was a cool, clean high tech interior design featuring flush lighting, DIRTT custom modular wall systems, custom Herman Miller furniture, and a uniquely cool perforated metal ceiling by USG.

  • 11 January 2012 - : nordahl medical center

Believe it or not, I actually stop and take photos of architecture just because I feel like it. A few days ago I was driving home from a client meeting and took the scenic route (ie. wandering the long way around.) Lo and behold, I discovered a nice looking new building that was clearly unoccupied, [...]

  • 03 January 2012 - : palomar triad

With all of the posts I’ve been doing about people and portraits, you would think that I don’t shoot architecture for a living! No so. In fact, I’m falling behind in posting about a few of the nicer jobs I’ve shot lately. This one is a remodel of the exterior landscaping, signage and common areas [...]

  • 26 April 2011 - : dr poiset

Lately I have had the privilege of photographing some really amazing spaces. Dentists in particular are really investing in their interiors these days. This is from Dr Poiset in San Diego near Children’s Hospital. The space was designed by the amazing and productive Patti Rague, and the contractor was Utgard Construction Company. Both are highly [...]

  • 01 March 2011 - : Carlsbad Blvd Nightscape

Yesterday I had one of those days. Five out of six things I wanted to happen, didn’t. So to self medicate my Monday-itis I went out and made a photo. This is Carlsbad Blvd (ie Highway 101) at a new mixed use development on the north end. I absolutely love the live/work neighborhood downtown concept [...]

  • 19 September 2010 - : Time Lapse

I am working on a new and very interesting project involving time lapse photography. I’ve never actually done it before, but was hired on enthusiasm and trust. I just can’t say enough about trying to maintain a good reputation and plenty of trust equity. In any case, I’ve been doing lots of homework, and put [...]

  • 14 September 2010 - : Family Photo Locations

Scouting new locations recently for some casual family portraits, I discovered that one of the parks closest to me is also one of the best: San Dieguito Park. It’s huge, it’s beautiful, it has lots of different environments, and most of all….it’s quiet! Go figure. These are from a simple and fun family session over [...]

  • 14 July 2010 - : Chicken Spring Lake

Over the July 4th weekend Jessica and I, and two of her college friends took the opportunity to do a short backpacking trip in the Eastern Sierra. This is one of my favorite areas, stretching from Lone Pine in the south, to Death Valley in the east, and Yosemite in the north, encompassing some of the most rugged and beautiful high country in the western US. Many of the peaks and passes exceed 12,000 feet, where the trees grow sparse and twisted, and the small lake trout are wild and wily. Our traveling area includes the Golden Trout Wilderness, home of the last native populations of this small, wild, and beautiful fish.
